Pipe Care Unit Type 1 (PCU1®) installed to provided mill site pipe care and management services. Reduced pipe movement and handling along with direct delivery from mill to customers’ yards minimised potential damage to OTCG, reduced cost and improved safety.
A second PCU1® was installed in 1987 to provided blasting and coating services. This time RAMCO worked in conjunction with Freecom Inc. to internally coat the pipes with CeramKote54®. Pipes were sprayed and cured in ovens three times before they were ready to commission offshore.

Benefits to client included reduced handling, lower costs, less potential for damage to pipe, and improved safety. At the time this service was industry leading as competitors were still cleaning by hand.
