Pipe Care Units (PCUs)

In order to deliver this service quality and reputation in remote locations or at customer facilities, Ramco has developed several mobile pipe care units. These are modular systems that can be transported almost anywhere and set-up quickly and efficiently. Based on standard shipping containers these units are a cost-effective way of delivering an unrivalled service where fixed installations may not be possible or desired.
Ramco’s PCU’s offer all core service offerings, from OCTG blast cleaning to pipe inspection, rig ready preparations and refurbishment – all packaged up in a containerised system that is clean and environmentally sound.
PCU 1 and PCU 2
These provide the highest standards of grit blasting available with reusable abrasives. They can be provided as either a standalone unit or complement an existing steel mill facility – with both semi-permeant and permanent building options available.
Twin or triple lance systems are available to internally clean up to three pipes simultaneously. Variable speed operations are able to cope with varying degrees of pipe conditions.
PCU 3 and PCU 4
These fully mobile units are a fantastic environmentally friendly option. They can be commissioned and set-up anywhere in the world within 1-2 weeks and are designed to be operated with support from local labour.
Enhancing safety by minimising handling operations, the units add value by delivering pipe consistently to the highest standard, reducing rig downtime and facilitating the increased speed of well operations.
Using self-contained and reusable water systems this PCU reduces the need to dispose of wastewater, allowing it to run for up to 6 months off the units own tank water supply and meet the highest environmental standards.
PCU 3 and 4 can process 2 3/8” to 20” OCTG as standard.
